I began making heart wall sculptures in 1989. The heart image has been a recurring theme in my work since childhood. From 1989 through the early 2000’s I experimented with many materials, including metal, found objects, wood, various fibers and paint to create hundreds of 3-dimensional heart shaped works of art and structures and also paintings.
Several hearts and mixed media pieces were commissioned as part of the One Percent for Art to be included in the permanent collections of both The State Superior Court House and The Stamford Health System. Most recently one of my painted collage pieces was purchased for the permanent collection of the newly constructed Oncology Wing of the Yale/Park Avenue Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT.
